Pet Day

This is a photo of my vaseline saucer I created for our Pet Day. I tried hard to make a symmetrical pattern using the flower petals.

Animal Report

For writing we have been learning how to write animal reports. Here is a report I have written about snakes.

Snakes
Snakes are reptiles. There are around 3000 species of snakes.

Where it lives
Snakes live in Africa, Asia and Australia. They live in the jungle and bushes. Some snakes live in the warm seas of the world.

What snakes look like
Snakes are all different colours like green, yellow, brown, red and orange. They have no legs but have long backbones. Snakes skin is scaly.

What does snakes eat
Snakes eat rats, mice, meerkats and any other tiny animals they can find. They uses their senses to catch prey.

Snake threats
Their most threat are humans because we cut down their trees and destroy  their homes.

Snakes devour their prey in one go. Some snakes strangle their prey. Some quietly slither through the grass and bite it and others put venom in their prey.

Partly Cloudy - Writing

We watched a short video called Partly Cloudy. We had to write sentences using adverbs as sentence starters.

Partly Cloudy
Happily the bird gave the cats and dogs baby animals.
Smoothly the bird flew through the clouds and the clouds were moving like heads.
Happily the clouds were giant and they made baby animals out of clouds.
Carefully they made the baby animals but there was a cloud that was unhappy.
Crazily the baby crocodile bit the cloud’s finger.
Quickly the bird got dizzy, he can’t fill his tummy.
Happily the bird looked up at the other cloud and the puppy was playing with the cloud.
Speedily the porcupine ripped the bag from the outside.
Sadly the bird saw the shank and the bird flew away to the other cloud.
Madly the cloud was glaring at the bird and the cloud was crying.
Happily the bird came back with armour and the cloud made an eel and shot lightning at the bird.

I am good at adverbs at the start of my sentences

I need to work on making sure my sentences make sense.

Volcano Erupting

Here is my moment in time writing about the volcano erupting. We made it in our sandpit.

Bang bang! Flames of rock shoot like missiles into the air. Clouds of steam and ash making the view invisible. Lava bursts out and spreads everywhere. Red hot lava takes over the land and destroys everything in its path. Slowly the lava cools and turns into rock.

Te Ahuahu walk

"Yes! The bus is here,” I yelled. The whole school got on the bus. I sat by Rocky. The bus was nearly ready. Vroom Vroom! The bus took off. When we got there the school lined up. We climbed the mountain. I was surprised. 40 minutes later... I was so hot. Hone was talking about the Maori. I saw lots of things from the top. I saw the lake. Lunchtime. I ate my lunch.  Then we raced back down the hill.  2 minutes later the bus arrived.
